Ria & Yiouri Augousti met thirty years ago in London and their love of art and design bound them together. As newlyweds, Ria and Yiouri dreamt of building a collection of furniture and home accessories that bore their name.

They sought out sources of inspirations in their travels, encountering various cultures, arts and architecture.  Whether it was a peacock from a Nepalese princess' garden, cut glass found in a store in the Czech Republic, or the Peggy Guggenheim in Venice, Ria and Yiouri were drawn to unique pattern, fabrics and shapes.

Out of their London apartment, they combined combined these inspirations with their love of the 1930's art deco period and began to create "modern vintage" patterns that have become the R&Y Augousti signature.

The husband and wife team packed their designs into the back of their Volkswagen and headed for their 1st show in Paris in 1990.  Brand name department stores, like Neiman Marcus and Barneys New York placed their 1st order.  And the posh Hotel Crillon in Paris commissioned them to create desk accessories for their suites.  The R&Y Augousti label was born.

In 1994, R&Y Augousti opened its first store in Paris' 6th Arrondissement.

Their success allowed Ria & Yiouri to move their store to its new (and current) location, the fashionable 7th Arrondissement in 1997.

R&Y Augousti began expanding their line to including handbags and small leather goods in 2002 and jewelry in 2006.

In 2011, R&Y Augousti opened their first showroom in NYC.

Now with the 25th anniversary approaching, R&Y Augousti is working on its next chapter.  Stay tuned.
